A night with the stars ~~ Kevin Cheng, Myolie Wu, Moses Chan, Roger Kwok, Tavia Yeung, Wayne Lai, Raymond Lam, Michael Tse, Ron Ng, Kate Tsui, Nancy Wu, Mandy Wong, Him Law, Oscar Leung, Koo Ming Wah and Kenneth Ma (with his grand appearance)...                                                                It is holidaying time again..  terraced rice fields Went on a short trip to Vietnam last week, (never have thought I would be stamping my foot on Vietnam soil..ever). Anyway, when a friend asked me if I am interested, I thought we are going to the all time famous Halong Bay, but when I heard " Sapa"..I was like.. "what"???.."where"?? (my ignorance - never really studied the world map). So, the next second had me browsing through the world wide web and found out that this place is in the mountains located at Lao Cai province, which is in the northwest of Vietnam, where several highland minority groups - Hmong, Yao, Tay & Giao live. Next, thought, "ok, at least, it is a cool place, even in June and we can ecsape the Hanoi heat" (we are to get on a sleeper train from Hanoi to Sapa and back). Another piece of info - Sapa is famous for its terraced rice fields..very scenic, very touristy and of course, a good place for photography.  the train BUT, the train ride is what I dreaded - 8 hours??!!..Well, we travelled on Livitrans Express. The train comprises of 7 wooden carriages with 4 berths and toilets. There are mineral water and cookies - all compliments from Livitrans! Luckily for me, there are power points for charging my camera battery.
Special appearance at Paradigm Mall - 26th May 2012                                                     A rare photography-testing-skill outing at the Deer Park in Taman Tasik Perdana..(why deer park ??), coz it is free admission and..(it is only a little "snap-practice" session) but of course, we will be checking out other nearby parks real soon.                       A whopping parking fee of RM10 (!!!!) after 6pm & it is not even a properly lit area!!! A muddy, sandy lot, quite a short walk from the parking to the park & just watch out for your steps, no stairs, nothing to hold on to..get a good pair of shoes (just in case)..but the good side of this all is, there is no entrance fee!!.
The city of lights, actually does not have many attractions, just lights everywhere..oh, there is a ferris wheel, but that was not operating on that particular night, a pirate ship, merry-go-round & some other rides that are good for the kids. Apart from all this, nothing really extraordinary, the lights are cool if you watch it from afar though. Not one of his biggest fan, but his songs are so popular, that even a non-fan, like me, could get into the sing-along mood, (plus screaming & some crazy-glowstick-waving too) during his three-hour-long show at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil last Saturday. The encore session was a blast! Fans were 'treated' to a few rounds of succesive pair of song selection (with each song title shown on the huge screens on both sides with blue on one side & red on the other) & of course the song that gets the loudest cheer or rather scream, will be sung by the pricipal himself. Thought the train ride is going to be fast, (otherwise you would not call it a bullet train)..but it was travelling at a speed of an ordinary LRT in KL - SLOW. Anyway, we arrived at Changsha - 2 hours & 45 minutes later (approx. 780km). A pretty tiring day. Bus-shots from Guangzhou & the Guangzhou South Railway Station :              |
